As indicações ao Emmy costumam medir a temperatura do que está acontecendo na tão falada "Guerra dos Streamings". Esse ano, por exemplo, a HBO foi o player com mais nomeações, com 130, superando a Netflix que, reparem, foi recordista da premiação com 160 indicações no ano passado. Com produções com um status mais premium como "Mare of Easttown" e "Lovecraft Country", a HBO teve 86 títulos indicados. Já a Netflix recebeu 129 indicações, se apoiando no grande sucesso do ano "The Crown" e "O Gambito da Rainha". "The Crown", aliás, foi a série mais indicada ao lado de "The Mandalorian", do Disney+, que recebeu  surpreendentes 71 nomeações. Com relação aos outros serviços de streaming, a Apple TV+ foi indicada 34 vezes, seguida pela Hulu, com 25 e pelo Amazon Prime Video, com 18.
